yes it is uploading great, from my 28 results 8 have gone since sunday.

Well at least the "work" list has now reported what was able to be uploaded.
So now just gota get uploading in the right direction.
PC's still outpacing the uploads and room for downloads.

Gut says this will all be history in the next few days.

Thanks for the effort guys

Certainly seems to be improving, the graph here (second down left side) has just dropped like a stone.

Let's see if the trend keeps up. A couple of hours should tell for sure.

Message 211995 - Posted: 12 Dec 2005, 22:32:37 UTC - in response to Message 211992.

last half hour no results in progress dissapeared(1), only 1200 WU waiting for validation disappeared(2). So maybe the server status isn't updated every half hour.

Is (1) or (2) correct? It is (2) isn't it? :-)

Some stats are updated every 10 minutes, some every 30 minutes. Validator is updated somewhere in-between. :) But it DOES seem to be rising at a much faster rate...and many of my uploads seem to be going through now. This looks promising.

There might be a slight hiccough in that trend, but longtimers know it's only a matter of time before it's back to normal.

There has been a big hiccup in that trend (to Zero), but the In process number has dropped. That indicates the Scheduler has been in contact with some of the the systems and now knows about those results being finished. So they are now waiting in the Transfer queue.

In the past hour, I had one move from ready to report to the Transfer queue, and one old result to get uploaded. So there is progress.

And there does not seem to be a lot of "pounding" on the server by requests. Just the server taking its time uploading at a slow rate.

24 hours ago I saw that 1500 results "dissapeared" in half an hour, I mean, 1500 results were uploaded by users, and now it is 140,000 in half an hour, that's a big difference, I think everything will be normal very soon, tomorrow morning probably.

Somehow I've managed to have 4 upload today from one of my machines. I'm not stressing though, RAC is still improving thanks to Climate, Einstein and Predictor. Gotta love the credit amounts from Climate and Einstein though...

However, unless I'm crazy, I noticed that there must've been some successful uploads, because I used to have to scroll down quite far on the "work" page to see all the WUs. When I just checked, there's not enough on the page anymore to even need to scroll.

Uploads started about an hour ago, but at the same slow rate as all last week. However, in the last 20 minute period that rate has jumped by about 5 times that rate. Waiting to see if that was just a blip or a trend.

I had only 4 WU's to upload. First success was Saturday, final upload a few minutes ago. I would say it's improving, because I'm one who is no longer trying to bang on the upload server.

I was (and still am) at the point where the are no more WUs to "process". Over the last 27 hours, this machine has started 265 uploads but only finished 6. That's a success rate of 2.3%. If that's an improvement at all from the previous seven days, it's not a noticeable one.

Since the machine chews through about 6.9 units in 27 hours, that didn't start reducing the upload backlog here until the local supply of units ran dry last night.

And this isn't my fastest machine.

It appears that patience is the order of the day. Or the week.

What concerns me is that the number of results in progress -- currently 3,650,864 -- doesn't appear to be decreasing significantly, even though no new WUs have been sent out for two days now.

Scheduler off -> no-one can report uploaded results -> "In progress" only drops due to results passing deadline.

Meaning, the only can say for certain is the successfully uploaded results the last couple days is somewhere between zero and 3.7M.

On the brighter side, I actually got two results uploaded this morning -- first ones in the past 48 hours or so. I hope that's the beginning of a trend!

John Clark said that the status had changed from 'Uploading' to 'Ready to report'.

As I understand it, the stats - anybody's stats - don't update until the reporting stage has happened as well.

Which won't be until they turn the scheduler back on.

{snip}

I did not think of that. D'Oh. I still can;t upload though...Ho hum.

{edit} At least E@H is still up. {/edit}

Message 211413 - Posted: 12 Dec 2005, 12:54:24 UTC - in response to Message 211408.

On the the front Berkley homepage and Technical News page we have heard no update what so ever since the 9th and it's the 12th today.

Have anyone any idea what they are doing ? nothing ?

1) The SETI Techs are based in West Coast USA, so their update on Friday happened sometime in the evening European time.

2) Then they went home for the week-end.

3) And they aren't back at work yet (only just pm in Europe), so there's no update today (yet!).

But be aware:

They KNOW there is a problem and they are doing their best.

So, just leave them to carry on and if you run out of SETI WU's join another project or close down BOINC until it's fixed.

(The same sort of problems used to happen with SETI Classic - did you moan about it then and did it actually make the problem go away quicker becuase YOU moaned)?

Tim
