sad little boy and you need to go to the naughty chair for 6 minutes.

I know I'd feel better if I could get atleast 6 minutes in someones "naughty" chair.

Hi MattDavis!

Why inventing the wheel a second time?
As Windows user use Excel and AndyK's calculator. You know the credits you've got, you now your goal, get the avg. WU/h from Andy and go...

IMHO that would be reinventing the weel, bigtime:
500.000 BOINC'ers, each fiddling with their own spreadsheet+calculator.

If it was implemented at one of the stats pages, people would get an enhanced service from that particular stats page, and they would not have to spend time maintaining such a spreadsheet, and it would be multiplatform from the start since it's viewed in a browser, and you would ensure that all credit target calculations would be done in the exact same way, which allows target calculations to be compared.

I would like to highjack this thread back to it's original topic :) by saying ...
If you check out this link:
http://www.boincsynergy.com/stats/boinc-stats.php?id=56328&project=sah
You'll see that they have implemented something similir.
On the right side you can see a small graph icon.
When click it will show you how many days until you surpass this or that other guys position.
Or when you will be passed by someone.
That works for me and keep it interesting.
As far as plain number goals.
The math is to easy to go through the trouble of making such a app IMO.

Most of us smart people knew how to do this all along.

Have a nice day

NOW who's being arrogant, hmmmmm? Tut tut tut *wagging finger* You're an angry, sad little boy and you need to go to the naughty chair for 6 minutes.

BTW, I'd love to see that too! I'd probably use it every day. I don't have Excell though.

Without love, breath is just a clock ... ticking.

I don't think the guy likes me because I thought his "news from the future" thread could be misinterpreted and cause trouble.

He assumes I don't know how to make a graph. Anyone who has taken high school math knows how to plot a point, find a slope, and calculate how long it takes to get to a certian point on the Y axis.

All this thread asked was for a program to do it automatically :)

i really hope someone with programming skills takes up your challenge...it would be such a cool tool to have...i want one NOW!

Seti News from the future:

December 28, 2005:
WaveMaster sets the world record for eating poo.

Matt owes me half a beer for what was wasted spewing out my nose when I read that.

Hey, at least you've now got a clear head!

(And I didn't say where or which one or how much froth :-P )

Cheers,
Martin

This could take our minds off of the current problems. I don't mean the Seti upload issues, but the mean and nasty people! Most of us are smart enough to know that this is just a tempoary issue.

I don't like this.

This post should be taken down.

He claims to be smart and is very arrogant.

He did not know that this is something even a child can do.

Most of us smart people knew how to do this all along.

Have a nice day

Smart people don't whine, bitch, and complain about something that:

A. Is obviously temporary.
B. They can't do anything themselves to fix.
C. Is hardly a life-threatening problem.

and finally.

D. Has already been mentioned $diety knows how many times and the majority of forum regulars are sick of hearing about.

Your further comments about "something even a child can do" indicate that you are nothing more than a garden-variety troll, and hardly one of the "smart people". You're simply an idiot.

You will be assimilated...bunghole!

Anyway, I digress.

I was looking at my BOINC Stats page and was thinking that it would be neat if someone with coding ability made a little program that would look up your stats on BOINC Stats and let you put in a goal credit #, and it would calculate how long it would take you to reach that number of credits!

I might be able to help you with this. Just give me a few days (well actually just need an hour or so, but can't find a free one).

Matt,
Make a spreadsheet.
You know what your total is for each project on a given day so Excel will total them and automatically update the graphs of each project and the grand total of all projects.

You mean this? http://www.andyk.de/boinc/pc.php

Doesn't that just do one project at a time? I'm signed up to several projects.
