Configure ZA to allow internet access for both Boincmgr.exe and Boinc.exe. Boinc uses ports 80, 1043, and 31416. Boinc should only call 66.28.250.125, 128.32.18.185, and 128.32.18.173, you can allow only those addresses to decrease security risks. NOTE: if boinc can't call home during attachment it will test yahoo and google to see if it can get to the internet. if not then It asks for proxy info, but at all other times the above three IP's are all it will use. I don't use ZA either, so can't help you figure that out

I've updated to the latest Boinc Manager and currently use ZoneAlarm. I was finding that the new Boinc manager is accessing the internet constantly and therefore my automatic internet lock will not activate which I need for a secure system. When I manually locked the internet. Boinc immediately crashes.

I will not give up autolocking the internet for Boinc. So until this version is fixed or someone has a fix for me I'm going back to the older Boinc version
