> Where the hell are my freaking badges? -Sigh- I guess you aren't aware that beta isn't over? BOINC isn't ready to go live. As such, no badges. (assuming they are intended to be awarded) Look for badges when it actually goes live. |

It seems that the "Chimps with Keyboards", failed to understand the seti users, once again. The fact that the migrated data was 5 weeks old, and for some (many?) contains an email addr from when they first registered (up to 5.x years ago), which may now be bogus was not even announced by a simple message on the Seti Classic site! (a month ago it could have been "Seti Users - we will be saving user and team info on xx/xx. Please insure that your email is correct in your account if you'd like to migrate your data to BOINC" was all it would have taken. Then a "we will stapshot the User Accounts on yy/yy and BOINC will go live yy/yy+1 with that data. Please note, that this will be your last chance to insure that your account is migrated correctly.") Hey, that took me less than a minute to type both messages! Guess they need more than 5 chimps... Heck, Shakespeare took 1,000,000! It's funny that "badges" aren't understood, as that's a basic item in the Seti Classic forums! Seti Classic = Coke Classic BOINC = New Coke Where's New Coke today? |

Guess they need > more than 5 chimps... Heck, Shakespeare took 1,000,000! For the few dolts that don't keep these kinds of things updated anyway? Naw, not worth the news mention, IMHO. Besides, that would have put a release date out in the public... and they did NOT want such a thing out there until they actually knew when release was. They didn't know they were going to release when they did until roughly 18 hours before it happened. > It's funny that "badges" aren't understood, as that's a basic item in the Seti > Classic forums! Badges are understood... this is boinc, though. This isn't classic SETI@Home. You're living in the past. Badges don't fit so well here, anyway. Get over it. Move on. Or just keep complaining and see how that goes for you. ;-) Rob |
