At this time 276,795 users are crunching with BOINC. Seti classic currently has approx. 225000 active users. I conclude: There are more BOINC users crunching than Classic ones. I am sure 99% of the classic users will crunch BOINC at the end of the year, not 1% as you guess. You seem not to be a team worker? I am sure you cannot overview the BOINC framework (which ISN'T Seti as you stated!) in that short time. A good expert will try to solve his problem(s) with others. Especially an expert does tell others what the problems are. Tell us and we'll help. Why didn't you transfer your old account to BOINC and created a new account? On the main page there's a 1-2-3 that tells you (roughly) what to do. Especially the "Seti classic users" part. |

Robert, It would help if you provided some specific issues we can help with. As for losing 99% of SETI participants, the project has been live for some 18 months already and has around 50% of the classic SETI user count. All I can suggest is you give BOINC a decent try, it does work, albeit strangely. If there is a reason why you BOINC won't run for you, then explain the problem and 'we' will help solve it.

Folks I hate to say it, but I'm a geek (A+ tech with A.S. degree in computer electronics and over 20 years experience) and this new seti program is so sick I am tempted to chuck my participation and stop my home network from anymore involvement. You guys are making a terrible mistake with this change. Your going to lose 99% of your research members. Is it worth it? Whoever set up this code needs to go back to school. WARNING! Fix this sh*t or else we go bye bye. |
