I can't say how much I should thank all the other optimisers for the SETI Application, but my particular thanks to Harold Haparst for do such a fab job on it to reduce my processing time on an x86 P3 from 24 hrs for 1 WU to just 4 1/2 hrs. That's over a 5 times speed increase! Admittedly it runs Linux, so it's fast anyway, but still, THANK YOU!

Yep - clients based on Harold's sources are amazingly fast. Crunch3r has some fast builds for AMD too.

I've not bothered updating my site with the new clients as Crunch3r beat me to it with the static builds :)

Ned,

Can you put in a table of links to the other sites on your site?

And is there an overall comparison somewhere for which optimised client is fastest for what hardware?

(I'll admit that I've now lost track of all the rapid advances! Excellent stuff and exactly what Open Source and peer review is all about!!!)

((Or is that really Naparst Review?... ;-) ))

Regards,
Martin

Indeed!

General rule of thumb at present is that Harold's page has the fastest clients for Intel chips and Crunch3r's page has the fastest clients for AMD chips.

Here's the links for anyone reading:
