I would like to attach to SETI project but can't get past the proxy configuration screen. I don't have (or can't find?) an http proxy server. When I click on 'next', it won't let me get past this screen. Any suggestions? Also, I'm a Classic SETI user and yet BOINC doesn't recognize my current data units completed? Maybe I don't even have to attach to a project as I'm a current SETI user?

Try the latest BOINC version for Windows 5.2.11:

# Changes since 5.2.10

* Win: Fixes the option to allow people being able to launch the wizard until after a connection to the core client has been established.

# Changes since 5.2.9

* Win: Fixes a BOINC Manager connection issue when the manager is waiting on a firewall for the all clear. This generally happens after a reboot.

# Changes since 5.2.8

* Win: Fixes the 'connection failed' message when another program is using the BOINC communication port.

And thank you for your patience so far.

As to the credits:
Go to your Seti Account, scroll down to SETI@home classic workunits (as of 15 March 2005);

It was a snapshot made of the Seti Classic database on the 15th of March 2005. Seti/Boinc cannot update the Classic database in realtime, as the whole Classic database needs to be offline to make a snapshot. So the next and last update will be done once Classic shuts down.

You start from zero credits in Seti/Boinc. Read this FAQ in the Wiki on that. The credits in Classic aren't compatible with the credits in Boinc. So the old ones won't be added to the new ones, ever.

I was able to launch BOINC successfully! However, all the 'pretty graphics' are gone in my screensaver. I do see the stars and the modulating outline of data running and CPU time in seconds, however all the great graphics are gone?

Yup that is how the screensaver is it has certainly changed to the classic one you will be used to. You should see the graphic analysing the signals and blocks of color movig around much like the classic graphic

Sorry about that, I don't run screensavers, but I do know that somewhere out there, someone has written a substitute that mimics the old Classic one. When you have been awarded credits you can go to the Message boards and search in number crunching for it.

There has been a problem with ATI graphics cards and the screen saver, but not sure of details or wether it has been fixed.

If your problem is indeed the proxy configuration asked by the earlier poster, Proxy Configuration and Running BOINC behind a proxy server will very probably help you.
If not, please come back.
