My PC bave been running the old S@H yet since 1999 and I had dowloaded the BOINC manager version 5.2.8 to continue participating of the project, however I am not obtaining attach to project. My procedure was: first, I copied the URL project into the box "http://setiathome.berkeley.edu". Second put my email address "awoa@terra.com.br" and after I copied my account key into the password box in both case: created new account and use existing account; but inall times are failed. Please What I need to do?

nope, if you already have an account key, then log in (via website) and change your password.
I dont like using the account key as the password as it never works.

if its a new account, then just let the software create the account for you

let me know

So you're using a "password" NOT account key and still failing? does it say "account not found", what prompt are you getting?

Do you have a personal software firewall like norton, mcafee, or AV? If so, please check to make sure that BOTH boincmgr.exe and Boinc.exe have full internet access.

When you first finished installing boinc and clicked "launch" you should have seen TWO prompts from your firewall asking if these apps had your permission. did you see both? If not, restart your puter and they might come up, failing that, and if you don't want to mess with you're firewall, then uninstall and reinstall boinc. Hopefully, you're firewall will catch it this time.

it may not be a firewall issue, but only you can tell that. It may just be the number of connections to berkeley.

open a command prompt box

type in
tracert 66.28.250.125
hit enter
see if it gets there "successfully"

Please go to the seti website, log in, then go to "your account", create a password. Stay logged in.

Open the boinc manager
click on "projects", then "Attach to projects" this should start the wizard.

then when prompted for URL type in: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu
hit next. It will communicate with the project and SHOULD then allow you to either pick "new account" or "use existing account" Pick "use existing account", enter email and the newly created password.

I hope this works for you and I didnt' forget anything
