In March this year, I attempted to transfer to Boinc! However, after several frustrating failures in my attempts to get Boinc to connect to the SETI project, I decided to continue running SETI classic.

Now that I have been obliged to transfer to Boinc!, I kept aggressively beating at the many stupid hinderances to this transfer until (despite all of Boinc!'s efforts to stop me) I managed to get Boinc! connected to SETI on all three of my PCs.

I contributed roughly 2000 additional SETI classic units to the search since I first tried to transfer. However, my account on Boinc! only credits me with the units I did PRIOR to my unsuccessful transfer - yes, the account got migrated, but no, I did not.

How do I get credit for those missing classic SETI units (and the date of my transfer updated to reflect when I managed to convince Boinc! that I actually really did want to transfer)?

The Classic work unit total you're seeing on SETI Boinc pages now is a snapshot of statistics from March of this year. Any crunching done between March and now is not reflected on these pages yet. The remaining credits are to be transferred (added to the March total) in December.

Note that BOINC credits and Classic units are not going to be merged. You will always have 2 different statistics (w/ the classic ending on 12/15).

That sucks!

I might have had the best figures possible on SETI classic, but because I had difficulty transferring, will always be behind the 8 ball - despite having contributed since July 2000.

I see 14K + credits for your classic account, a final DB sweep will be done after Dec 15 and you're credits will be shown at that time. In the mean time, 3rd party stats and signature sites will see all your credit to date. See the bottom line of my sig.

Look at the bright side - at least you're doing science!

If that's not enough for you, there's always the (accurate) viewpoint that the credit system is much more fair and at least everyone starts at zero, so it creates a even platform for everyone.
