My graphics card is a NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64 - I don't think this is a 3D Open GL card do that may be the problem.

Thanks...

According to this link from nVidia, your TNT2 M64 chip supports OpenGL. Perhaps updating your driver might help?

The Classic screensaver only worked under the Classic application. It was built in there. BOINC uses the boinc.scr screensaver for Windows. It's a 3D OpenGL screensaver, so make sure your videocard can do OpenGL!

You set your graphics preferences at the Project's preferences, while you tell Windows to use the screensaver through the normal way. Make sure it is pointed to the BOINC screensaver, not to any of the Windows 3D screensavers.

Then once it is running, you'll notice it either to be cool, or yuck. If you think it's yuck, then no, you still can't get the old screensaver back. But you can emulate it. :)

Hi Al,

Don't worry, SETI has a screen saver for BOINC too!!! BUT you will have to change your preferences on your computer. From the desktop, right click and select properties and then Screen saver. Select BOINC and Voilà!!!! You should get your SETI screen saver again.

I installed the new BOINC software and connected to the Seti project. Then I uninstalled the old seti@home software so I don't have 2 versions of the program running. But now I have lost the cool set@home screen saver. How can I get this back or does it only work using the old classic seti@home software?

Thanks.
