This page uses the user_info.sah file from your Classic SETI folder to extract your Classic password. MJ |

[quote][quote]If you have access to the email account used for classic, you can just get classic to send it to you. Unfortunately I no longer use AOL. If I log in under the old AOL address it says that it sent the new account key to that address and I have no way to retrieve it. It looks like BOINC assumes you are still at the same email address and does not ask if you want to change it. By the way...my original username was rivera1008@aol.com, just in case someone who reads this has the ability to connect the original account with the new one. |

Log on to your account on the internet first, then Boinc should log on with no problems (no proxy or socs query) I am a Geek. We surf in the dark web pages no others will enter. We stand on the router and no one may pass. We live for the Web. We die for the Web. |

1) Open your BOINC Manager. Go to Setting and there to tabs HTTP Proxy and SOCKS Proxy. Uncheck "Connect via HTTP Proxy" and "Connect via SOCKS Proxy" I had to create a new account because I no longer use AOL, which is where my orignal account was. I haven't used it since 1998. The email I got was for the new account created today. it had the new auth key in it. |

If you have access to the email account used for classic, you can just get classic to send it to you. Otherwise, it may be in one of the classic files on your HD tagged as user ID. BOINC WIKI |

I have 2 issues. The first is the issue stated above. I'm an original Classic user and have never used a proxy or socks server but it won't let me connect without entering one. The second is that I forgot my original password years ago. How do I tie my previous work to the new account I just created? Running new BOINC on a Dell 8250 with WinXP/SP2 using Windows Firewall and Spy Sweeper. Thanks. |
