And then only if they're 100% sure of getting it well before Dec 15th. Otherwise, change over now, Clsaaic useres are doning nothing but wasting CPU cycles. Also, I guess that the more that change over the next days/weeks will spread the load on the BOINC servers. ID: 189802 ·

See the threads News: Merge Classic data to Seti-BOINC DB, and Classic "scheduled" to close Dec 15th and pay special attention to posts by developer "Matt Lebofsky". Matt says now that the science of both have been merged, that both Boinc and Classic are crunching the EXACT same wus, and that the work by Classic is redundant. my own feeling is that i'd be asking my people to do the switch as soon as caches drain. As I recall, it was mentioned previously that after cutoff there would be a short period to allow the outstanding units to be returned - not a lot of time though ... ID: 189795 ·
