When I try to install boinc as a service, I get the following error message:

Error 1920. Service BOINC (BOINC) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

I am the computer administrator on this computer so I assume I do have those privileges. Is there something else I need to do first?

Problem solved.

I set a password on this computer in order to install boinc as a service, and I needed to reboot the computer before the password took effect.
