I followed these procedures but none of my classic credits transferred. I have been a member since 2001. As I have upgraded computers I have compiled over 1600 WUs but there is nothing but a clean slate. Andy

On your account, I can see the following:
SETI@home classic workunits
as of 15 March 2005 625
SETI@home classic CPU time
as of 15 March 2005 42,299 hours

It's a database intensive process to bring over the stats. The databases are not dynamically connected. Some time after the Classic side closes, the stats will again be brought over to the BOINC side of the project, and those numbers updated. NO CREDIT HAS BEEN OR WILL BE LOST.

Classic Acct. Updating

If you had an account in the original 'SETI@home Classic' project as of 15 March 2005:
We've transferred your account, including profile and team information.
You must now activate the account.

Seti Classic Link
Here is what you need to know and process before asking for help.

1. There a 2 different web sites for account information on classic and BOINC.
classic : setiathome2.ssl.berkeley.edu
BOINC : setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu

2. BOINC accounts were created for most active users and contain classic credits as of Mar 15, *and* this will stay until the final wrapup of classic. At that time the final classic credits will be transferred.

3. Those who have not activated the BOINC accounts will need to do so if they have all account access information.

4. Email addresses must be unique, so anyone who has created a brand new BOINC (one that was not obtained by activating the classic acct) there may be an error when trying the activate the classic acct. to get the credits.

Hope this clarifies things and explains why we cannot immediately move all the credit from classic at the instant that users abandon classic processing.

If your old addy is no longer valid AND you really don't remember the password to Seti Classic, write to: setidba at ssl.berkeley.edu
