Here is a Collection of Placemarks that show the location of some Projects.

Google Earth Software is free and can be found here: http://earth.google.com/ (You need an Internet Connection while using it, Broadband is recommended!)

Placemark collection can be found here: http://www.pcschmiede.de.tf/boinc/

Feel free to share the URL because i will update it with new Data as soon as available.

Further Updates:
- build a Layer that fits to Arecibo Observatory
- find out where the Cell Computing Project is located

Here are some other links and more info (SETI@Home is also mentioned). For the best pictures of the telescope I ever know you may re-watch "Golden Eye" :)

There is probably a copyright problem with this Hi-Res Picture. But i think the current Overlay is satisfying. I don't want to see every single aluminum panel.

finaly i had some time to update BOINC Placemarks.

All Infos and Files can be found here: http://www.pcschmiede.de.tf/boinc/

on your site would it be possible to have a permanent/static URL to a kmz file that always contains the latest data (so it can be added as a network link in google earth

prehaps just the same filename, but without the version number at the end...
http://pcschmiede.pc.funpic.de/boinc/Science-BOINC_Placemarks.kmz

otherwise links etc. have to be updated everytime you make a new version

thanks :)

Is this date wrong?

Version 4 02/20/2005 (35.7 kb)

added: SIMAP@home Placemarks

added: SZTAKI Desktop Grid Placemarks

Thought that was supposed to be year 2006.
Unless your counting your versions down to zero.

I tryed to reproduce your Error but all went fine with Google Earth 3.0.0693. Could you please tell me when this error occured? While adding the Network Link to GoogleEarth or when flying to a location? Have you set any Refresh parameters or other experienced Settings?

i'm using the standard (free) google earth v3.0.0762 (build date 17th nov 2005) on windows XP pro (if you need additional info please ask)

the problem occours whenever the network link (which now points to your permanent URL) is refreshed, either manually or automatically when i have the "view based refresh" set (which i set to "on request"

if i just add it with just the basic info (name and URL) then it works without a problem, it's only when the "view based refresh" options are used

I've updated to the newest version and tested with Win 2000 SP4

That happened to me also. I found a workaround: Just set a Periodical Time-based Refresh of lets say 12 hours. I think its an issue with my website-hoster. I will add a hint on the download-page.

That's the solution i came to as well, i've got it set to every 24 hours, which i think is plenty, as it's not updated that often
and come to think of it, now that the initial novelty has worn off, i don't use google earth that much now either lol

thanks for looking into this thou, it's much appreciated
