Your registry must still contain some pointers, I fear. It's a dangerous thing to tinker with the registry - with BOINC uninstalling usually does its job well enough. In your case you even wouldn't have had to uninstall - BOINC 5.2.2 installs flawlessly over an existing 4.45. I can only hope you have a backup of the registry or can find the remaining key(s)... BTW: You should replace HTML with BBC in your signature. HTML is no longer supported. :-)= Greybeard All about BOINC: BOINC-Wiki (by Paul D. Buck) |

Did you uninstalled 5.2.2 and deleted the full Boinc folder before installing 4.45 again? FYI, installing 5.2.2 should be done without uninstalling 4.45. Quite honestly, I shouldn't take care about the registry entries. Recently, and for no apparent reason, Boinc failed to connect. Thinking that there was a problem with Boinc, I uninstalled it and removed all Boinc references in the Registry. However, when I tried to download 5.2.2, I got the following error message: "1714 Older version can't be removed." I then attempted to reload 4.45 and now recieved the following error message: "The configuration data for this product is corrupt." I am now at a loss as to how I can reload Boinc and keep on crunching. Help, help, help. Jack lass jlass@starpower.net THE MOTHER OF FOOLS IS ALWAYS PREGNANT I'M TROLLING FOR FOOLS.
