Go to "your account", select "view computers", select the computer you're discussing, scroll to bottom, select "merge computers", follow instructions. You'll be given the new higher ID number, and I know of no way to stop it.

That shouldn't have happened. I've upgraded several times, and still kept the same number. By any chance, did you go through the "detach/reattach" process? The reason I ask, is that such action will sometimes make another entry. You will have to merge the computers, and BOINC will do away with the older number ...

I upgraded to 5.22.

Now under my account a new computer was created. It is the same computer I've always used but now has a new computer ID and is starting from Zero.

I'm guessing I have to merge somehow???

I don't see how to merge....show me the way please.

If so, or if not: how can I continue on my original computer id.
