I started up a couple computers that had been turned off for a number of weeks. The workunits they had cached were past their "report deadline" and I noticed I was getting 0 credit for completing the "expired" work. How do I get rid of these expired units and get the software to download some fresh ones? If I "suspend" the expired units the program just seems to stop, won't download new ones. I also tried deleting the work unit data files in a "project" directory, that didn't seem to work either. |

if you know you won't be able to finish new wus, or just want to run your cache dry, you can select "no New work" from the Projects tab |

So far, after six hours and several cycles of workunits, some of the machines have fresh work cached, some are running with only one "current" unit and the "aborted" ones still showing on the work tab, and one is sitting there with no work to do only "aborted" units showing. Does it just take a long time for the work to be refreshed, or is the installation borked on some of these machines? I'm wondering if I detach and reattach to the project if the clients will "clear" themselves and refresh their cache of work with fresh units? |

I had a similiar case some weeks ago. I aborted the workunits in the work tab (beginning with those which were waiting - it's the same as when you have to clear a printer queue). It took then some time in fact to clear and load new WUs. :-)= Greybeard All about BOINC: BOINC-Wiki (by Paul D. Buck) |

The aborted wus will wait until their deadlines before being reported. Don't concern yourself with them until after their deadlines. They shouldn't affect your ability to get new work. |

Still having problems with a couple machines still showing the aborted units after two days, and they are only running one unit at a time....there are no cached workunits. |

I assume you'd like more than one? What is your connect to setting set to? How many projects are you attached to that are NOT suspended? |

It is easy to clear the aborted work units. You have to suspend all other projects on the compouter so that the client will first try to crunch the aborted work. When this is done the aborted work is flaged with an error. The error flags the unit done and can then be reported with a manual update. If you had all the work past the deadline, the simplest command would have been to reset the project. All work would have been deleted and it would have started over with a clean cache.
