It seems that BOINC isn't doing what it is supposed to do, sending work units :)

Since switching to BONIC (from classic S&H) my machines were mostly idle waiting for WUs.

This is just... well... sad.

The same here....i got 1 (ONE!!!) Packet in 3 Days!

I have classic Seti@home running again.

I dont understand that my friend got lotsa new packets and only talks of "No work from project" :(

Well, I understand that you have to do some work, but why haven´t you done this BEFORE releasing it ? This is a great problem occuring everywhere in the softwaremarket look at games...we all are betatesters @:/

I noticed the SETI Classic woldnt take or get Work Units, I poked around and found the BOINC, I thought I read they turned off the classic, period, and they took a "snapshot" of the work units done by everybody as a matter of record keeping, any further classic work units may not get credited...or so I think,,,

I tried my classic and its working now, I presum they still have it going or maybe they turned it on till things were resolved with boinc?

The seti boinc page has news of the servers being down for a while.
I think theyll get things ironed out, like anything, you never know what you get till you dive in headfirst into something...

BOINC works great. One thing to remember is BOINC does not send WUWUs the project sends WUWUs, BOINC is a management program, it takes care of just about everything. I setup BOINC on my computer, attached to Seti@H and Predictor@H and just let it do its thing.
I have almost 6000 points Seti@H and almost 4000 for P@H. It could have been more points, if they both had not had problems but I for one do not care about points, I just care about getting the work finished.
This is a good program and as all programs can and will be improved.
The number of WUWUs for Seti@H as I understand it will be limited, no more issuing the same WUWUs over and over just to keep the stats up.

Have a nice day.....

Most of our technical effort over the past year has been focused on ramping up SETI@home II, which involves an entirely new client/server architecture we are developing called BOINC. BOINC has been in alpha/beta test for a while now, and we're hoping to release an early version soon. The bottom line is we are currently running two SETI@home-sized projects on the same amount of hardware that up until recently ran just one project. This is difficult to say the least, but BOINC's flexible server architecture and several recent hardware donations from our major sponsors are making for a smoother transition.

Finite work supply
Each work unit is now processed a limited number of times (typically three). When we have no work for your computer, you'll get a 'no work available' message. We encourage you to participate in other BOINC-based projects; then, when SETI@home has no work, your computer can stay busy doing other scientific research.

I get all confused with all your messages, we all know is going to be a temporarily on/off situation but I never run out of units to analize.

Sometimes it takes a lot of time before getting credits, but that is different.

Tonight I received 52 units almost all together. Enough work for 10 days, 1 CPU.
