was wondering since i switched to boinc can i remove my old seti program and if so what happens to all the work units i have completed or in progress

You can delete the old S@H program and any units that you have not yet finished crunching. The units you delete from Classic will probably be crunched by 4-8 other people so no science is lost.

The number of units that you have completed in Classic is displayed in your account, however, because of the time required to update the Classic stats to BOINC, they are only accurate as of 15 March, 2005. These numbers will be updated when Classic is fully shut down.

Your current values are:
SETI@home classic workunits
as of 15 March 2005 11
SETI@home classic CPU time
as of 15 March 2005 867 hours

Will the numbers still be updated if I remove the old S@H program before Classic is fully shut down? Or should I wait to uninstall S@H until after the transition?

IIRC, the transition date is 15 Dec 05.

They sure will be updated, whether or not you have Classic SETI on your computer. You can uninstall at any time.

Yes, but there may be some time before they get the databases merged. I'd give them a few weeks to get the numbers put back together, so after the first of the year for updated stats (until somebody gives us a firm date for that).

They sure will be updated, dangit. I had stopped at exactly 1900 classic workunits but there was one stray one on an old computer that got fired up before the second snapshot so now I have 1902 classic workunits.

I see 290 classic credits in your boinc account. THis total is "as of" March 15 2005, they will do another sweep of the classic DB when they take it down and your credits will appear in your boinc account here. In the mean time, classic stats are exported via xml and are up to date on stats sites for signatures. see the very bottom line of my sig for my up to date numbers.
