How do I remove my Computers from being viewed? When I set it up I selected to allow them to be viewed, but I have changed my mind and wish to elect the opposite. |

It is one of the project specific preferences. You will have to change it at each project you participate in. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

It is one of the project specific preferences. You will have to change it at each project you participate in. I don't understand how to make the change, even though it is specific to my project. I only have one project at this time. Can you give me more specific info please. Thanks for attempting. |

Do know that no one except you can see the specifics about the PC. All we can see is what makes they are (CPU, amount of RAM, OS and when it last contacted Seti), not the name or IP address! You are the only one who can see that information! |

You are the only one who can see that information! Well, a little bit more info, when you click on the specific computer, but nothing that's a potential security issue. Astro-AL, to know what we can see of your computers, you can click on one of our names and select View Computers, then a specific computer. That data is all we can see about yours. Where it's most helpful for others to see is when a user is having problems, and we crazy people trying to help can get a look at what your computer is returning in the form of error messages on the work units. If you hide your computer(s), we can't get to those unless you post a specific link. MJ |
