18K +

Siran, can i add Lattice, S&H Beta, & SHOFT?

Not individually, only as a total BOINC milestone, including SETI II.

Speaking of Lattice, what's up with them? Their news page is over a year old. Everyone says that SETI/BOINC is bad about not letting users in on the news....

And, what is SHOFT? I don't have that one on my news site. Got URL? >:-) (-:

And what about SZTAKI? Looks like they have only Hungarian home page (though Google stores English version of it, pointing to the same URL, strange enough).

SZTAKI main page is in English or Hungarian (auto...) now. You will see the Hungarian unless your "primary language" in your browser is English. Other pages are being translated, but slowly.

Since that was off topic, I'll throw in my milestone - with the WFV queue dropping, I just passed 2K for SETI, 7500 total BOINC. :-)

Hey Bill, you, Sergey and I are not off topic, sort of:

    05. This thread will allow references to other individual projects. [See #7 below.]

.... as long as any discussion doesn't avalanche and overtake the milestones. Milestones is the primary topic, but I allowed for a short discussion such as the one we just had.

I remember, a year ago, when I went over 2K credits. Congrats on yours.... >:-) (-:

Siran, just a couple of reflections about the guidelines:

09. Opera says the url in the brackets is illegal (containing illegal characters). Besides, the target for that url is a closed thread... :)

12. You could maybe put in a tip for http://tinyurl.com, as one way of converting long url's? It's easier than trying to fit it to forum width.

Thanks! I already see the problem. Somehow there are quotes in the URL that shouldn't be there, because of the lack of HTML here. I forgot to get rid of them. Too late to fix it. And, I was trying to figure out a way to divert any flaming because the FOTD threads have all been closed, and for good reason. I could not think of a way so I left it for the time being. I just came up with an idea, spawned by your idea of tinyurl.com. I'll look into both.... >:-) (-:

Then back to topic. This week I got 4 milestones almost at once: 20K for SETI, 25K total for BOINC, 40K for my small team, the 5th place among those with the same sign-up date. Plus with pending credits I hope to reach 25K SETI very soon (it's validating with the speed of light right now).

And just noticed: RAC is exactly 600 :) Unfortinately it will drop down shortly after the outage.

In response to Prognatus' observations and suggestions, this is the update I have come up with:
    09. This thread will not allow flaming any other users. [See this thread.]

    12. This thread will not allow 'stretching': no graphics/pics and while quoting a post with a very long URL in it, fix it if you know BBCode, otherwise delete it or place spaces in it to break it up so it will wrap properly. Another option is to use this site to create a new link. If you must include a graphic/pic in your post, create a link to it. No imbedded graphics/pics.

I hope this helps.... >:-) (-:

SHOFT: http://public.shoft.net/

Check the forum in BOINC Synergy before you attach or run anything.

Lattice is not dead yet (or so "THEY" say). Go to BOINC Synergy for the latest.

(18K & rolling)

I decided not to include SHOFT because I can't read the language. And, I figured Lattice was still alive. I was just wondering why no news since this time last year. I will check BS in a bit. I need to do my required login anyway. >:-) (-:

Here some information from Lattice web site

"September 6, 2005
As requested, I'm posting an official notice that the Lattice project is NOT dead and that there will be brief periods of activity in the coming weeks as we demonstrate the use of our public BOINC pool as part of a larger demonstration of our Grid system. With the new school year beginning, it is also likely that some of our researchers may begin to use the system again too, but that remains to be seen. Thanks to all for your continued support and participation"

Hope this helps...

Where'd you find that? It's not on the news page I go to.... Thanks.... >:-/ \\-:
