As MJKelleher says, you need more than 64MB _free_ RAM for BOINC to run SETI.

It is possible you need Microsoft installer 2.0 . You can download it for Win95 ,98 and ME from the Microsoft Website here

You _may_ also need Explorer 6, I am not sure.

Can you copy off any specific error messages? I'm running (well, walking) SETI-BOINC on a Win98SE computer. Slow, but it gets there. Do you have more than 64MB of RAM? 64 or less will not work, it needs 64 after Windows takes it share.

so... I tried to install the BOINC software on the older tower using win98 and no go, says not compatible or something, will have to retry the install to get Exact Error Message... so.....

what do all us older computer owners do for this cause? is there some way that the powers that be can Keep The Classic SETI@HOME going? like really, we older computers need to process something... Please keep SETI!!!
