Message 150786 - Posted: 13 Aug 2005, 4:07:12 UTC - in response to Message 150773.
Last modified: 13 Aug 2005, 4:11:45 UTC

Personally, I loved it and thought such a thread DESERVED it.

Maybe that this one does, I don't care. But the general threads, where someone asks for help are illegible due to the multi quotes.

As long as the hel(l)pers quote eachother's quotes to come to an agreement, it's illegible for the person who started the cry for help.

And as long as the people keep on pressing "reply to this post" without taking out the unnecessary quotes, you'll see on Classic forums that we are a bad bunch!

Maybe I will ask AthlonRob to disable the quotes again in his next Ubb update!
Since people around here can't follow a simple thought anyway.

Ageless..

I for one, have never had a bit of problem following "top posts", "Bottom posts", "intermixed posts", or a combination.

Why do you feel it's YOUR CALL on how people should post? Seems you have a bit a of control issue here! (why does that not surprise me as you always want everyone to think and act in the 'Ageless' way!)

Now go to your room and think about this... You're whole thread depicts you as a spoiled kid!

Jeese...

I for one find "underquoting" a bigger problem, as there's not enough in the response to get a clue on what they are responding to!

So just what does it take around here to make it on your list anyways? :-)

Now your reply is exactly what Ageless is talking about: quote everything, and only leave a short one line reply.... >:-( )-:< He is suggesting that you only quote what you are replying to.... Simple.... >:-) (-:<

I meant that the long quote with the one line response was an attempt at humor. ;-)

If it was, it was in bad taste, IMO.... >:-| |-:<

I agree, do you....

If you agreed, then why a 4 word reply to a very large quote?

Can we please quit with the "reply to message" quotes and then add one line at the bottom?

Seeing Sir Ulli's post, he could have just as well deleted all the extra text and started off with:
If you are like most of us, not near Berkley,
{snip}

I hope, in time, we do donate some newer servers to Berkeley ..
{Snip}

Please people, don't over-quote! I've seen threads that done a whole quoting fest where people would even become confused as to who wrote what!

So why don't you use self sense and use your left mouse button, some use of Shift and the Delete key, to get rid of extra text that isn't necessary anyway, as we can all read it in the thread, when posting an answer to someone?

What did you say? He may not know you answered him?
His post started off with a message ID. You answering him will point in the forums in text to his post. So why annoy half the population here with your quote fests?

Those are people I find that over-quote in Number Crunching. If you want to quote, quote correctly, please.

Or is it fun to annoy 99% of the population with big quotes and ending it with one sentence, usuall something alike "I agree". ??

I agree, do you....

Do you mean like the Grunter? Yes, definately like the Grunters!
Seeing Sir Ulli's post...

Someone who posts multiple pics where asked not to, or starts new threads when the same active ones already exist, is not going to be able to figure out proper quoting.
