This is a new one (for me). It may've happened here before, but I haven't seen it:

A WU of mine finally managed to upload and I got 100% and all bits and bytes cheched. Then, it hunged... and suddenly it reverts back and now says 0% and "3 hours and 10 mins"!

So I guess communication dropout are in several areas.

Got the same thing today as well.
I was just about to post about it...
You beat me to it ;-)

I see a strange pattern in this...
[...] This third one is the slowest of them all (P-III-M 1 GHz) and it is the one wich hasn't uploaded a single result [...]

It's the opposite with me. My slowest (PIII, 730 Mhz) uploads and downloads as if there were no problems at all. It finishes a result every 6:xx hrs. Well, it sometimes needs serveral tries, but transfer queue is empty most of the time.

Did you just recently add a new project? Or did you just recently upgrade your BOINC CC? or maybe change some setting on your preferences?

Jim

I am now at a point where the scheduler is saying that it is...
7/19/2005 9:08:42 AM||Suspending work fetch because computer is overcommitted.
It won't download anymore now.
Too many WUs to turnin, and no new ones coming.
This machine is now out of work.
When will this situation be resolved so that the spare cpu clock cycles can get active again?
I know the workers are working on it, just letting you know that I am now down until it is resolved.

Until it is up and running correctly again, I'll have to turn off BOINC.
I just hope I remember to turn it back on.

It seems the situation becomes more and more sticky.
So a question to the seti-team: What would help to finger out the problem?

What other projects are you running? It should not be the case that work wating to upload will overcommit BOINC.

There is more to BOINC than SETI... CPDN, Einstein, ProteinPredictor, LHC, ...
My cpus actually never run dry. I only don't like to crunch wu's that don't make it to the server in time and it's not my fault >:-(

Wow, guess I'm lucky to not have that happen to me. I'm still getting wu's, and slowly uploading. To remind yourself, stick a bunch of sticky notes to your monitor. Thats how I remember. LOL :-) Hang in there, it will get going again. It always does.

Great. Now my Linux cruncher is having upload troubles too.
(If a cruncher is really slow, should I call it a gummer?)
