I just installed the BOINC s/w. It appears to have tried to dl work and didn't succeed. It is going to wait 23 hours before it tries again. Is this delay a setting I can change? Are there really no SETI work units thru BOINC? |

Have you attached to the project ? - If no - have a look in the documentations and forums, or at www.boinc-doc.net, it is often described.... If yes, please post a output. |

I'll refer you to this website at boinc-doc.net. It has something to do with the min_rpc_time in the file client_state.xml in your BOINC directory. *************************************** -Steve |

I found my problem. My computers that crunch seti don't have enough RAM memory to run BOINC. The error message is only there the first time you attach to the project. If you restart you just get the time until reconnect. My first interpretation of not enought memory was that I had settings that made my avaible HD space appear too small to use. based on my searching... You need 64M of free memory to run Seti@Home now. That is required because the GUI needs the memory. I'm using cmd line linux so I don't even need the GUI. Oh well, that's progress for you. :) Is anyone looking into removing this feature? |
