If the scheduler sent it out again [seti] the scheduler should give the new 14 days deadline. I have had a couple of those. Fred BOINC Alpha, BOINC Beta, LHC Alpha, Einstein Alpha

Sucks don't it! I had a couple of those on LHC@home. There is/was a file deleter problem (we called it the over eager file deleter). I think LHC have looked into it, but the changes appear not to have made their way to the overall BOINC platform yet. Oh hang on, slightly different problem.... Live long and crunch. Paul (S@H1 8888) And proud of it!

It makes sense. The original two weeks ends on June 28, 2005. After the 3rd valid result came on July 3 the work unit is closed, because the 14 days is done. The fourth result needs to be there before the two weeks. After two results were in and one was still out, it should not have sent the fourth if the two weeks deadline was done. It was a race on the last two work units to get the third valid one returned. Red Bull Air Racing Gas price by zip at Seti

When I look at the Work unit, is seems like they have sent out a 4'th unit to you, and when the 3'rd ticked in July the 2'nd, and they had three valid results, they closed the WU and granted the credit, not taking in consideration of the 4'th, yours! But possibly sent before verification. BOINC WIKI |

My result seems to be created few hours after receiving the third valid result, also possibly after granting credit and closing the WU :-) Peter |

Well, this one is interesting ... should not have happened. It looks like you got hit with a "timing" bug... I posted it to the developers board, not sure what we will get ... but can't hurt to ask ... I made a screen shot so if anyone wants to enter this into the bug base there are welcome... I am too tired to wrestle with it ... if you want my write up send em an email and I will forward it to yo |

Been curious - how could this happen? Bug somewhere in server software? Having not enough results available, new were created and sent out later, but without checking the deadline correctly. Not even now it is july 16th :-) Yes, this looks strange! When I look at the Work unit, is seems like they have sent out a 4'th unit to you, and when the 3'rd ticked in July the 2'nd, and they had three valid results, they closed the WU and granted the credit, not taking in consideration of the 4'th, yours! That's a bummer! :-( "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me
