Sorted it out, right clicked on screen, properties, screen saver and looked in power management. It was set to 10 minutes so changed it to never and had no problem since(touch wood). I forgot that a new piece of hardware resets the power management for monitors. Will add new machine to Seti, when broadband is up and running.

You might find it easier to just Right click on the desktop, click "properties" then go to screen saver tb. All your info is there. Respectfully, Rocky www.boincsynergy.com |

Maybe your monitor is set to shut down after 10 minutes. If you go to "Control panel" then "Display" then select the "screen saver" tab. Then where it says monitor power press the "power" button. My drop down boxes are set to "Always On" and "never" "never" "never". |

Check your power-saver control panel (I have no idea what it's called in WXP... "Displays"? "Power Management"?). Make sure that your monitor's standby mode is correct. If it goes off too soon, you'll get no screensaver because the CPU stops sending the video signal(s). The same thing can happen on other OSs. HTH. |
