(I imagine that community service being served in lieu of jail time, eh?.... ) Why how assinine and racist of you to say! What you dont know out of your shear ignorance is that in Mexico public education is only free thru the 6th grade. After that parents have to PAY for it. More money the higher the kids go. His "community service" is what we call VOLUNTEERING and it's a requirement of his education system to graduate. But I guess in your mind seeing a Mexican kid talking about community service must mean he's a criminal. Typical racist. Like AssMasher you finally show your true colors! I bet you also think that all Eskimos look alike too, eh racist Pooper? |

When Justice O'Conner announced her retirement, we (the nation) lost. Who else thinks that the Nuclear Option really means "Let's blow up the opposition party"? Now begins the Summer of our discontent... |

Old news deleted because of redundancy.... Do you think that because you're a moron that everyone else here is too? I watch the news, once. I don't need the same CRAP thrown in my face in these fora. Why don't you find a message board where OTHER morons would be HAPPY to read your redundant rhetoric....? CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. Who cares if you agree....? As to the rest of your concerns about division and rancor.... I'm not so defeatist as you seem to be... .... You always seem to find SOMETHING that you DON'T agree with from someone replying to you. We, as a nation have shown the ability to rise above our differences in the past and I think that can be attained once more... With you leading, I presume....? more rhetoric.... .... One thing we both probably agree on, ......it won't happen overnight. You assume too much.... CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. (I imagine that community service being served in lieu of jail time, eh?.... ) That last statement is proof positive that you haven't the ability to comprehend what you read. He said he needed to do it for GRADUATION. Racist!!!! CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. (I imagine that community service being served in lieu of jail time, eh?.... ) I imagine the Pooper will say, "It's not my fault the kid translated it wrong with his poor English skills." But I expect as much from a racist. |

(I imagine that community service being served in lieu of jail time, eh?.... ) Let's not forget that paulie pooh thinks this is an American board for Americans only, because who else would give a sh** about all his American politics? And yes, he finally showed his true color! Why would he spend so much time with his babble here, when he could make a difference as a local politician, helping the Inuits there! Oh yes, I forgot, he lost the elections.... "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me |

Now that Justice O'Conner has announced her retirement, you're going to see every special interest group in the USA running smear campaigns against whomever is nominated to replace her. Let's just hope Americans are able to sift through the rhetoric. Will multi-million dollar campaigns win the day? We'll just have to wait and see. I think that 90% of this fight is going to be over abortion issues in the USA. My fellow international crunchers, I'm curious. What are your respective laws on abortion? How much political importance does the abortion issue have in your country? |

Ok, I quote from here: Free abortion Denmark has provided free abortion since 1973. Any woman has a legal right to have an abortion at a hospital until the 12th week of pregnancy. In exceptional cases, an abortion may also be performed later in pregnancy. If you choose to have an abortion, you must ask your general practitioner for a referral to a hospital. An induced abortion is usually a surgical procedure performed under general anaesthesia. You may also have a medical abortion, i.e. an abortion induced by medication. It is the woman’s sole decision whether to have an abortion. On an annual basis, between 15,000 and 20,000 abortions are performed in Denmark. Some find this figure too high. One of the arguments against abortion it that terminating a life is morally wrong. The determining principle of Danish abortion legislation is that women should be able to choose an abortion to avoid giving birth to unwanted children or putting their own lives at risk by having an illegal abortion. The numbers have dropped since the emergency pill, or morning-after pill, has been legally administered. Politically it has no importance at all, except for the orthodox Christians, who still have an issue with this! And some Islamic imams have, as far as I'm informed, talked against it, but more as a part of their general view on women and their way to express themselves and their sexuality. The same imams who also claimed that it's the womens own fault if they get raped (many times gangraped by - "funny" enough - Muslim men!), because by not wearing a veil a woman "invites" to be raped!!! If my memory serves me correctly, the dems approved 98% of Bush's nominations for federal judgeships. Also, If my memory is up to speed, each time a dem president nominated someone for the federal bench, the reps were always using various litmus tests regarding their own agenda. Needless to say you can't please everyone. As to the question of abortion, I personally don't like it. However, I'm not a woman, but I do know this; I wouldn't want any religious group or the state telling me what to do with my body. Maybe the next step to put a stop to men producing children out of wedlock and not providing financial support should be state enforced castration. Would you like the state to have a say whether you can keep your nuts. Account frozen... |

For a government that's supposed to get off of your back, they sure like getting into your uterus... Tell your bank the same thing about your credit cards and see what happens. The US government does have a credit rating and creditors. You wouldn't want to loan them any more money if they went into default, especially unilateraly. OK, you were joking, I think... Dogbytes, I'd prefer to keep what I've earned. Please don't misunderstand. I spend a lot of my personal time and money helping people whom are less fortunate than me. I never had much of anything growing up, but I always made the best of things. Everything I have today of value has been earned by hard work. I strongly believe in individual responsibility and individual freedoms. Being taxed more than necessary hurts both causes. Like NeoAmsterdam said, 12.5% of Americans live in poverty. I just don’t understand what government has to do with that. For every tax dollar (read social programs) that is given to an individual, that money is forcibly taken from somebody. In my book that’s not only stealing, that’s diminishing the freedom of individuals. Don’t get me wrong… I love charity, but when it becomes forced it’s no longer charity. |

Waa Waa Waa...Americans are the lowest taxed people in the entire industrial world. Actually no we're not. I've known many people who have lived in the US and have lived in European and South American countries. The US, from what THEY say (with Honest to God Practical Experience) is that the US is not the bargain many make it out to be. When you consider that the US has Federal and state taxes in addition to the various sales and property taxes the tax load often comes in higher. But don't let any little facts interupt your rant. |
