Two hillbillies walk into a bar. While having a shot of whiskey, they talk about their moon shine operation. Suddenly, a woman at a nearby table who is eating a sandwich, begins to cough. After a minute or so, it becomes apparent that she is in real distress. One of the hillbillies looks at her and says "Kin ya swallar?" The woman shakes her head no. Kin ya breathe?" The woman begins to turn blue and shakes her head no. The hillbilly walks over to the woman, lifts up the back of her dress, yanks down her drawers and quickly gives her right butt cheek a lick with his tongue. The woman is so shocked that she has a violent spasm and the obstruction flies out of her mouth. As she begins to breathe again, the hillbilly walks slowly back to the bar. Was it a low-speed chase AKA The OJ??? No, it wasn't. I think it was a more moderate speed chase. The stupid jerk ended up exiting the freeway and attempted to take a street which paralles the freeway but unfortunately for him, was closed due to bridge reconstruction.

The best investment I ever made was a maintenance book for my truck that deciphers the codes and the majority of them are simple and cheap fixes I can do myself at a 1/4 of the cost... I got out at $50. I know how to reset the durned thing now that I ran to the library and looked at the Chilton's. Problem is, I've got a '96 850 Turbo, and they moved to an "ODBII" system which requires a plug-in sensor to see the codes. I just might price out one of those things. The result today was maybe my O2 sensor is going bad, maybe not. It's a "let's wait and see" situation. The day it tripped I was stuck in traffic for HOURS (some LA freak decided to kidnap his girlfriend & kids and have a car chase all the way up to Santa Barbara). So, we THINK my car just does NOT like being in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Who's making the martinis? Send one down here.

The only blemish is that my car is in the shop, suffering from the dreaded "check engine" light on the dash. (grumble) Could be cheap, could be pricey. Dunno. The dreaded "keep the mechanic in a job" light I know well. The best investment I ever made was a maintenance book for my truck that deciphers the codes and the majority of them are simple and cheap fixes I can do myself at a 1/4 of the cost such as changing the air filter when the code indicates insufficient air flow or a no-code that just needs a reset button pushed (cost $50 bucks a shot before I learned to do it myself for free). If it's more major and something I can't handle, at least I have advanced warning.  To truly explore, one must keep an open mind... ID: 126108 · |

It is the first day of Summer and it certainly looks that way here near Santa Barbara. It is sunny and warm. I've got a container of sun-tea set out. The only blemish is that my car is in the shop, suffering from the dreaded "check engine" light on the dash. (grumble) Could be cheap, could be pricey. Dunno.
