If you want to continue getting work units, you'd better upgrade yes. It's no longer a choice you can make for yourself, but a proprietary update that you should do. The server (when it's up & running again) will eventually quit giving out work units to older BOINC clients, forcing you to update to stay with the program.

At this time, multiple attempts to get to any of the main 4 types from http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/download.php all come up with "The page cannot be found".

Kinda scary. If this is a proprietary upgrade and they are going to stop supplying work units to ver 3.19, why in the world don't they say something on the Seti-at-home site? Why is it that the only place I even hear about the upgrade is on the community forum?

Because that's the way things seem to run around here. Just ask the Beta testers, which I was one of them.

Should I even bother to ask how some of you seem to know about the version upgrade when it wasn't posted on the Seti site? Where do you guys/gals go to get the information? I wouldn't mind being kept in the loop, but I don't really have the time to check forums and do comprehensive internet searches to find updates to these things.

Some of us run the Predictor Project also & it's been posted over there for the last few days already. They seem to keep the people more informed over their than they do here ... :/

I couldn't even connect to the Seti Site since yesterday because unannounced to me they changed the Site Url Address...D'oh, thats a good way to keep people from running any more WU's, just change the Site Address and let people figure it out for themselves ...

And if that doesn't help for some mysterious reason, try an uninstall of Boinc 3.19, then install 3.20 to that directory.

Or reboot.
