I usually don't go into discussions like this, but I remember seeing that weird "Music Video". All I can say is, the Thread starter has a completely valid point. If people see that otherwise, then that's only proof to me that reality is even more scary and dangerous even than those singer's wicked Visions (and now that's truly difficult to achieve already, almost can't top that) ;)

They were the first all jewish band to appear on the stage of the Ryman Theater (Grand Ole Opry). That does not make them members of the Opry, but it was a start. |

This guy sure is from Texas, Yup. Kinky Friedman: "I'm a Jew, I'll hire good people." "If elected, I would ask Willie Nelson to be the head of the Texas Rangers and Energy Czar and Laura Bush to take charge of the Texas Peace Corps to improve education in the state. I'd ask my Palestinian hairdresser, Farouk Shami, to be Texas ' ambassador to Israel . We've worked together to create Farouk & Friedman olive oil. The oil comes from the Holy land and all of the profits go to benefit Israeli and Palestinian children." I forgot to paste this part from MSNBC: Plus, he wants "to fight the wussification of Texas." "I am determined to get back to a time when the cowboys all sang and their horses were smart," Friedman said. |

I found the words just fine by entering "They ain't making jews > like Jesus any more" It is a crap Song not worth reading..... No definitely not, really. It's from the album 'Kinky Friedman', and performed by 'Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys', afaik the first jewish country band in the Grand Old Opry (or at least Kinky claims so). I thought it was once on his homepage, but as he runs for governor of Texas now, he perhaps scrapped his music stuff for the time being. As Kinky is proud of being jewish, just not in a fundamentalist way, I never even thought of any offence. Do you know this song? Gruesse vom Saenger For questions about Boinc look in the BOINC-Wiki |

We're missing a song that Jesus would have on his iPod. My other post in karaoke reminded me of it, because it's by Ray Stevens, the same singer as the Streak: Woke up this morning, turned on the TV set. There in living color was something I can't forget. This man was preaching at me, yeah, laying on the charm, Asking me for twenty, with ten thousand on his arm. He wore designer clothing and a big smile on his face, Selling me salvation while the band sang 'Amazing Grace'. Asking me for money, when he had all the signs of wealth. I almost wrote a check out, but then I asked myself... Would He wear a pinky ring? Would He drive a fancy car? Would His wife wear furs and diamonds? Would His dressing room have a star? If He came back tomorrow, there's something I'd like to know, Can ya tell me would Jesus wear a rolex on His television show? Would Jesus be political if He came back to Earth, Have His second home in Palm Springs, try to hide His worth, Take money from those poor folks if He comes back again, And admit He's talked to all those preachers who say they've been talking to Him? Just ask yourself would He wear a pinky ring? Would He drive a fancy car? Would His wife wear furs and diamonds? Would His dressing room have a star? If He came back tomorrow, there's something I'd like to know, Could ya tell me would Jesus wear a rolex, Would Jesus wear a rolex, Would Jesus wear a rolex on His television show? (Ray Stevens did a lot of great songs) |

Yes, I meant you and it was something you said a long time ago, around your first 10 posts. I can't exactly remember what it was, so won't stir it up any further. You're the only person who has managed to get off my list, see it as a payment or excuse to the 'harassment'. ;) As for me being part of a trolling gang? I'm with The Final Front Ear, a group of good people, but total (mental?) whackos. If you want to call us a gang of trolls, be my guest. We've probably been called worse. ;) More serious though, doesn't a troll need to have many more posts than the meagre amount I managed to accumulate in all my time here on these hallowed boards? Fuzzy(ball), it was a typo. Sorry. Speed typing kills. |

That's why I liked these boards the after I joined. On some of the other boards that I've been on, it's like every other word that comes out is a curse word. And if you tried to talk about science, some people would think it's weird or something. I've tried my best not to belittle anyone or any post here. I think that that's very easy to do though. Let's say you got a subject that you might not really understand that well. Sometimes you might post something that's funny that has something to do with the subject. This has happened in some of my posts too by people that have had threads that I have posted in. I never told anyone, hey, stop posting in my thread cuz I don't think it's funny. Most of the times this is all with good intentions, and the poster hopes that the one that has the thread might appreciate it. Most people here post in other threads that belong to other people a lot and the thread subject seems to get way off subject. That happened in some of my threads as well. But I never really did mind that very much cuz I think it's natural for something like that to happen when someone metions something of interest to another person. Man, take a look at some of the threads and see how they get off the thread subject. Remember the Athiest thread? Well notice that I did not agree with the way that BrainSmasR (yea that guy) thought that everyone who did not believe in God 100% was in some way messed up or something. I did my best to explain to him that people don't always fit in his vision of what religious belief was. I never tried to impose any views on anyone else in that thread either. And I respected the fact that some people happened to be athiest. Maybe there should be some kind of button or something in the thread where the person can select to indicate what the attitude is meant to be in their post. I don't know, but if we keep talking about these kinds of things and trying to point out every little thing that someone says or indicates all the time, like we've been doing lately, then the board is gonna turn into an ugly place that people are affraid to use. PS, if anyone wants my new email, just omit the underlines. I had to change it cuz of spam. |

I've also never really had that much trouble fitting before. But for some reason this seems to be an issue in this message board. Don't get me wrong, these boards are a lot more tame compared to some other boards. I remember times when people would not like hearing that many opinions from people that were fairly new, but it never really bothered me. I just wish people wouldn't take things too seriously sometimes. Well Alex, I have to agree with you on some of your statements, and I don't think you should get the wrong idea, but people here are generally very open minded and respect peoples opinions...when they are not shoved down our throats. Not saying this of you. You have been here a relativily short time, and have missed some of the more "Active" trolling that had gone on. The biggest problem is that those few that express their opinions about everything from politics to fishing, fail to value others opinions on the same subject. It is very one sided to post on an open board and to not accept and belittle those with differing opinions. As long as we have open minds...we continue to learn....otherwise we become stagnant. There are many on these boards that have differing opinions than my own, but they have opened my eyes to things I would not have normally seen. Respectfully, S.G. www.boincsynergy.com |

I never actually thought of myself as god in any way whatsoever when I was a mod. That's why I said that it was something funny that the former moderator told me. I'm not trying to fit in and make a name for myself in the way that you might have indicated. I think that there's a difference between hang'n out and trying to make a name for ones self. I've also never really had that much trouble fitting in before. But for some reason this seems to be an issue in this message board. If I thought that something someone said was interesting or funny, can't I try to add something to it. Don't get me wrong, these boards are a lot more tame compared to some other boards. I remember times when people would not like hearing that many opinions from people that were fairly new, but it never really bothered me, either as a moderator or just a regular user. It's kinda like school a lttle I think. I mean, I remember doing my best to try to help a new kid fit in, and never really cared if that kid had too much to say. I just wish people wouldn't take things too seriously sometimes. [edited] |
