They must have been cross bred with lemmings. But they do drown in mass river crossings. :) |

They must have been cross bred with lemmings. Lemmings don't jump off cliffs into the ocean as urban legend suggests. ;) |

The first time I heard of this phenomenon was maybe 30 or 40 years ago when a Frenchman in his 20's complained of breathing difficulties and an examination revealed the foetus of his twin brother in one of his lungs. When asked why it hadn't been discovered earlier the Doctors said that the patient had never suffered ill health until now so had never had a medical examination and because he wasn't a very active person he had never realised that he was only running on one and a half cylinders!! My wife was a nurse and she told me that it is much more common than we know because if the twin foetus is in the stomach it gets broken down and expelled. If cars were like computers My first computer was a ZX 80 and when I bought it in 1980 I also purchased a paperback called "Chips with everything" (It was English) In that book the author predicted that we would have chips with everything by the turn of the century and said that if cars had developed at the same pace as the chip.... A car would do a thousand miles to the gallon at a speed of 500 MPH. If it broke down you would bin it and buy another car because they would cost only a few pounds. A Family 4-Door Shopping Trolley would seat 100 people and you would be able to park a hundred cars on a pin-head!! A GOAT STORY. Years ago I read that a Goatherd had gone to the hills in Turkey to round up his Goats, a task which usually took a day or two. When he hadn't returned after three days his wife got worried and a group of friends set out to find him. The unfortunate Goatherd was found dead, killed in a rock fall, and he was trouser-less??. Found with his body was a young goat and the Goatherds trousers were nowhere to be found?? Join the #1 UAE Team.

Nearly 1,500 Sheep Jump Off Cliff in Turkey About 450 Are Killed, Cushioning the Fall for the Rest AP Turkish shepherds look at dead sheep in the town of Gevas in eastern Turkey. ISTANBUL, Turkey (July 8) - First one sheep jumped to its death. Then stunned Turkish shepherds, who had left the herd to graze while they had breakfast, watched as nearly 1,500 others followed, each leaping off the same cliff, Turkish media reported. In the end, 450 dead animals lay on top of one another in a billowy white pile, the Aksam newspaper said. Those who jumped later were saved as the pile got higher and the fall more cushioned, Aksam reported. "There's nothing we can do. They're all wasted," Nevzat Bayhan, a member of one of 26 families whose sheep were grazing together in the herd, was quoted as saying by Aksam. The estimated loss to families in the town of Gevas, located in Van province in eastern Turkey, tops $100,000, a significant amount of money in a country where average GDP per head is around $2,700. "Every family had an average of 20 sheep," Aksam quoted another villager, Abdullah Hazar as saying. "But now only a few families have sheep left. It's going to be hard for us." 07/08/05 09:30 EDT www.boincsynergy.com |

Her husband was doing the hospital staffs work! I hope she gets every penny! And because of the lawsuit it's possible all husbands may now be banned from the delivery room. |

Woman sues hospital over death of husband who fainted, hit head REUTERS July 8, 2005 LOS ANGELES – A Southern California woman has sued a hospital for wrongful death because her husband fainted and suffered a fatal injury after helping the delivery room staff give her a painkilling injection. Jeanette Passalaqua, 32, filed the suit against Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Southern California Permanente Medical Group Inc. in San Bernardino County state court last week. In June 2004, Passalaqua's husband, Steven Passalaqua, was asked by Kaiser staff to hold and steady his wife while an employee inserted an epidural needle into her back, court papers said. The sight of the needle caused Steven Passalaqua, 33, to faint and fall backward, striking his head on an aluminum cap molding at the base of the wall. Jeanette Passalaqua delivered the couple's second child, a boy, later that day. Steven Passalaqua died two days later of a brain hemorrhage, the lawsuit said. |

http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/articles/PA_NEWA11965031120234552A000 Teachers' 'threesome with pupil' 2 July 2005 Two female teachers have been suspended for allegedly having a threesome with a 16-year-old male pupil. But police are understood not to have pressed charges because the teenager did not complain of any crime. A spokesman for Havering Borough Council said: "Once the London borough of Havering became aware of matters concerning members of staff at one of our schools being involved in inappropriate behaviour outside school hours it acted swiftly to initiate an investigation into those rumours. but remember...we were talking about serving fish...at an aquarium... True dat! And, you know, it has been far too long since I've been down to that aquarium. I shall inform my husband that he will take a day off in August in the middle of the week so that we may visit that Aquarium. And further, I shall decree that we will SPLURGE. We will not pack our lunch! Delectable and wonderous as my cooking is known to be, we shall eschew it for one day and EAT FISH AT THE AQUARIUM! Take THAT, PETA! HA! |

generally...fish tend to eat other fish. very good points...it's the species that we don't see...the smaller ones...that make up the most populous group...and most of them may well be vegetarians...or feed on waste left behind by others...the larger...more powerful species...like sharks probably lean toward the carnivore side...but although they are larger...there are far fewer of them....but remember...we were talking about serving fish...at an aquarium... generally...fish tend to eat other fish. I don't think this is true. While there may exist a higher percentage of carnivorous or omnivorous fish to vegetarian (broadened here to include plankton and other microbial 'animals', just for the sake of argument and simplistic classification) fish vs. carnivorous or omnivorous vs. vegetarian land-based animals, there still must be a balance for the entire system to work. Think about the ratio of carnivorous & omnivorous mammals to vegetarian mammals (and for the moment, let us take man out of this equation just to make the thought experiment a little easier to deal with). The vegetarians outnumber the carnivores & omnivores by a HUGE margin. There's a reason for that, and I'm sure that such a lopsided ratio also exists within the fish world, but it may not be as heavily lopsided.
