> I had not tied setting it to not run on batteries, the other setting were set up as suggested. I didn't have the problem with Boinc 4.19, which I have gone back to. 4.25 has some nice features and once they work out the bugs I will go back to it. I also found my ups was giving me a critical battery alarm as well as an on battery alarm. I haven't had much luck with APC products and living in Lightning Ally an ups is required. > > My preferences say to run on batteries even though it only applies to > laptops. > > I've got my desktop set to not run when on batteries, and everything > still keeps chugging along when the UPS switches over to it's batteries > (Opti). > > Check your computer's power management settings- go for the Always on option. > > > > I want the ups to shut down the computer if on batteries and the level > drop below 50% or some set level. > > That will be set by your UPSs software. > |

> My preferences say to run on batteries even though it only applies to laptops. I've got my desktop set to not run when on batteries, and everything still keeps chugging along when the UPS switches over to it's batteries (Opti). Check your computer's power management settings- go for the Always on option. > I want the ups to shut down the computer if on batteries and the level drop below 50% or some set level. That will be set by your UPSs software. Grant Darwin NT |

During a couple of lightning strikes my ups switched to batteries momentarily. My preferences say to run on batteries even though it only applies to laptops. Boinc kept everything suspended until i clicked on the old alert and it went away. 4/7/2005 6:23:58 PM||Suspending computation and network activity - on batteries 4/7/2005 7:40:51 PM||Resuming computation and network activity I want Boinc to continue even on batteries. I want the ups to shut down the computer if on batteries and the level drop below 50% or some set level. ups = apc Back-UPS ES-725 Gregg |
