Guido, there is VERY little chance of a conversation with ETIs being anything remotely close to 'real time'. ALL forms of Electromagnetic radiation (light, radio, etc.) reaching Earth are from the past. The speed of light is finite. Even light from the sun is from about 8 minutes in the past when it reaches us. Unless the hypothetical ETIs are virtually immortal, I would say that BOTH sides in an Earth-'Planet X' information exchange are likely gonna be dead when the reply to their last question comes in (assume, for instance, an Earth-PlanetX distance of 100 light years... thats a 200 year round trip for messages).
