Thierry, thanks for your suggestion. I copied and pasted the link in your answer and checked if Boinc was running twice ( it wasn't). But no luck, it doesn't help. The strange thing is that EINSTEIN is running without any problems on this PC and two other PC's at work are running SETI-BOINC with my account without problems. Towards the end of March, S@H was paralyzed by an unknown problem with the Cognet link the servers have with the outside world. Now you mention the dates, this might explain the problems you were having. Also during this time, they had a planned outage to try and get to the root of what was causing the unexplained campus wide power outages they were experiencing a while ago. As for the firewall, the fact that Einstein gets through it OK means that all project requests will get through OK as the internet handling is not, as I understand it, handled by the crunchers, but by the BOINC environment & shell. All I can think of is a heavy load on the servers. I've been getting odd blips and complete blackouts where I haven't been able to see the servers even though they claim that they are up. This usually happens immediately after an extended outage as all the clients try to hit the servers for downloads/uploads etc. |

After 4 days of this problem, last night I was able finally to connect. No changes made. Still, the problem was quite bizarre for never seeing any servers/services down... > It is a recent Problem. > > Before March 14, SETI was running without Problems. > > I already took out the trailing "/" from the address. > > It doesn't help......... > > > > |

I'm having a similar issue- I upload credit fine, just never get a response for download. It's the only project attached to that machine. My other machine which runs CPDN is having issues as well, but that is apparently a CPDN problem per another post I saw. (CPDN is back up and working fine now... problems resolved) Anyone have any suggestions or other ideas? Would be appreciated. > Is this a recent problem, or has it just not ever done SETI? Is this a recent problem, or has it just not ever done SETI? If it's never tried it, try taking out the trailing "/" from the address when you attach to the project. |

I'm running SETI and EINSTEIN in BOINC 4.25 on my PC at home Einstein is running without any problem. With SETI I have problems: Before March 14 SETI-BOINC was running without any problem on my PC. Since March 14 2005, I'm getting constantly the messages: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Requesting 8640.00 seconds of work http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Sending request to scheduler: http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 2005-03-29 19:58:00 [http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Scheduler RPC to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] No schedulers responded http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Deferring communication with project for 1 minutes and 0 seconds In my webbrowser I've tried (as a test)to reach the adress: http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi: Nothing happens. When I do the same for Einstein http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/EinsteinAtHome_cgi/cgi I am getting the response: scheduler_reply scheduler_version467/scheduler_version message priority="low">Incomplete request received. /message /scheduler_reply It looks like if there is nothing wrong with my PC or Firewall (because Einstein runs),but that the SETI-scheduler is refusing my PC. Does anyone know what may cause this problem and how to solve it? Thank you for your attention Perry Janssen <img src='http://www.boincsynergy.com/images/stats/comb-1230.jpg'> |
