BOINCManager will shut down the BOINC daemon if that copy of the manager started the daemon.

You could always try closing Bionc Manager, if Boinc is running as a service it continues to run and I think it will still run even if it isn't a service.

You can only try.

The problem with this is... because BOINC 4.25 communicates constantly it will NEVER allow ZoneAlarm to enable the "Internet Auto-Lock" feature. What I would do before is to allow Seti/Boinc to bypass the auto-lock but otherwise the internet would be totally closed to my computer thus I could leave my computer on all the time with no worries. (hooked up to cable internet is not fun during a hacker attack). I now have to remember to lock the internet. Plus the downside with all this communication is that it greatly slows the process of doing Seti work units.

That is caused by Boinc Manager, the user interface, monitering the actual BIONC host program. You should be able to create a rule to exclude the 2 programs from alerts.

Bionc Manager uses the network interface to the local host program, because it is designed to moniter multiple hosts over a network.

Boinc Manager is called boincmgr.exe and the host boinc program is called
boinc.exe

If I remember correctly, they now communicate through port 1043.

What is this constant commucation with seti since installing 4.25? My Zone Alarm shows connection to "Boinc core client command line interface" about every 2 seconds.
