Go to your account page and change the general preference setting :

'On multiprocessors, use at most 2 processors' to 1 processor

Update from Boinc and then exit Boinc and restart it. If all goes well
you should only have 1 wu running. If not also try changing the general
preference 'Connect to network about every n days' to 0 and let your cache
run out. When it does then change it back to what you prefer.

Try this. Uninstall BOINC. Go to windows explorer find boinc folder delete everything in folder,shut computer down clear cmos if you cant find the jumper to clear remeove battery for a few seconds put battery back go into bios make sure its detecting right speed for CPU reset your clock and calender settings and reistall BOINC client.

If all else fails and you have tried Borgholio's suggestion just befor this one, Detach from project and delete all of the BOINC directorys, yes you will lose all of the completed but not uplaoded Wu's, and download a new BOINC client and the S@H client.

A few basic things to try:

1. Resetting the project
2. Detaching and re-attaching to the project
3. Check to see if you're attached to two instances of the same project at the same time. If so, detach from one of them.

when this happens to my ancient Celeron 500, it has actually added an "NEW" project and i have to detach the old one (one of the many reasons i keep my connect to xx at less than 0.5). You may want to do whatever trick you like to get the # of WUs down if this is your case so as to not abandon (if you wish).
this does 'sound' like the case as it is switching back and forth.

Right now I have 1 box that is working on 2 work units at one time and I need to know how to stop it.
This would not be a problem if it was a dual system but all it is a P3 650.
And all it does is keep pausing one and running the other for awile then it switches back and forth.
And every time it returns a WU it adds the box as another computer and I have to merge them.
What do I need to do to get them to work right?
