Well, I posted this yesterday, but it somehow got lost in the forums cyberspace (can't find where it went *_* ). The URL is here: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=1114 , but this is what it said:

I know this is a stupid question, but how BIG is a wu? I've brought my settings from requesting over 100,000 sec of work, to use no more than 3Gb of space, leave at theast 2Gb free, use no more than 75% of space, and leave me enough work to last me between 0.1 to 0.5 days. But I keep on getting this message each time I open BOINC:

OK, so you're giving it 3GB, but telling it to leave 2GB free, and only use 75% of the space. So in actuality, you're only giving it 3/4s of a gig.

That's kind of an odd way to set it up, but you should be able to fill your cache. Each WU is 350K. Why don't you try giving it the 3GB, leaving zero free, and only using 75% of the space? This will still give you a quarter of a gig free in your alloted space. (BOINC will only be able to use 2.75GB)

But the entry for % of space is a percentage of the TOTAL space, not the space that has been allocated for boinc.

So I would think it's looking at 55.77 Gigs and reducing that to 75%, which is 41.81 Gigs. However, he already has 47.87 Gigs used, so from the very beginning the percentage doesn't allow any room for boinc. If he leaves it at using no more than 3 and leaving at least 2, and ups the percentage of total space to a very high number it will get past the lack of space error, as all 3 fields will then be able to pass their requirement and he'll still have plenty of room as it is still bound by the limit of using no more than 3 Gigs.

Did you try increasing the percentage?

If not, try leaving the 3 GB and 2 GB as they are, and increase the percentage to somewhere between 90 and 95. It should have no problem after that.

considering your drive is already 90% full, saying to leave 75% free, of course it will not download anything!
change your settings to fill up your drive or get a larger HD to put boinc onto
