> Q) What percentage of our solar system's mass is the Sun. > That soundeth like a trick question, but I would say most of it. Until scientists somehow measure every last bit of solar body in the solar system, including asteroids, we won't have an absolute figure. |

>Q34:I 1999 the Chandra X-ray observatory was placed into space by the Space Shuttle. What was the original name of the observatory and who was it renamed in honor of? A34:The original name was the Advanced X-ray Asrophysics Facility(AXAF). It was renamed to Chandra in honor of the late Indian-American Nobel Laureate Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar , who worked on theoritical astrophysics in many areas of astronomy which the X-ray observatory Chandra will be studying. > Q36:What is the difference between docking and berthing? A36:In a DOCKING operation, one module is an active vehicle and one is passive. for example: the Shuttle docks with the ISS. After docking if the shuttle or the Station RMS removes a module from the shuttle payload bay, maneuvers it to it's assemble area for motorized attachment; this is called BERTHING. The motorized attachment that brings the 2 parts firmly together executes the MATEING. |

Can anyone ask trivia questions for people to answer? If so heres one for you: Q37: The most controversial meteorite landed in 1996, the reason the martian meteorite ALH 84001 was so controversial because......? A36: A docking is a joining of two objects whilst a berthing is a parting. |

A35: Meteorite is the part (if any) that reaches the ground. Meteor is the fireball. Meteroroid is a body in space that will eventually impact the earth. Bingo. JKeck you got it. I'm about to call it a night. since you got that one so quickly I'll post another one. Q36:What is the difference between docking and berthing? |

> A35: Meteorite is the part (if any) that reaches the ground. Meteor is the > fireball. Meteroroid is a body in space that will eventually impact the earth. > That's what I was trying to say when I answered that a meteorite would be the fragment of a meteor or other space body. I don't think that a meteoroid would necessarily have to eventually impact the Earth, even if it's considerd a meteor once it does. I did fail to state that in my answer though. But all three of these words can be loosley considered to mean the same thing. Hmm... these questions should be multiple choice. |

A35: I would say that the difference between a meteor and meteorite would be that a meteorite would be a much smaller fragment of a meteor or other space body. Sorry try again. I never knew the difference until I read my 1st astronomy book. Til then I thought they where just small asteroids and I never thought that there was a difference between them . I thought the 3 word where interchangable. I had never heard of the movie til you brought it up. I had to goggle it. I plan on renting the old War of the worlds before watching the new one. I'll look for the Lobster man from Mars when I do go to rent it. |

You should still rent it though cuz it's a lot of fun, even if it's a B movie. A35: I would say that the difference between a meteor and meteorite would be that a meteorite would be a much smaller fragment of a meteor or other space body. |
