I have 1 fairly new desktop and 3 antique laptops running BOINC Seti@home. The desktop occasionally shows up as two different computers. I "merge" them and all is OK. Is the "new" id being created because of me switching from "normal" to "turbo" to heavy "overclock" settings?

Thanx, Skip

I would imagine that overclocking your computer would cause the BOINC sogtware to create a "new" machine, as this changes the system specs. The help system says that the software keeps track of various things to determine how much credit to give you. Thus, the two "machines" for the desktop. Merging them would fix this.
