Hi, I run multiple computers with widely varying capabilities. I would like to be able to set the preferences per computer (all preferences, also the BOINC common preferences). I know I can use the Home/school/work to get three different sets but that is a workaround for a wrong design decision. Preferably I wouldlike to do this locally, not through some (slow) web interface + mandatory "update" before they get loaded. |

Not to mention the fact that I never have gotten the home/work/school to actually stay they will ususally default back to home so that does not even work right. I can agree it would be nice to set things locally like that or atleast have control over the CPU usages |

A hybrid approach may be the best solution. Allow local settings, but have the web interface to set defaults. For most farms, one set of settings is sufficient, and having the web interface speeds the setup of hosts. However, there are special case machines that should have a local override. BOINC WIKI |
