I have an old Apple Power PC it puts out an amazing 1 SAH Classic WU every 3 or 4 days. When is SAH Classic going to shut down and put my poor old apple into retirement? |

Can the old Apple Power PC run BOINC? Are you enough of a programmer to get it running from source code? jm7 |

Its not worth much of an effort. I checked to see if it was running for the first time in 6 weeks tonight. It was still crunching away. Its my last SAH Classic machine. Just wondering when it gets unplugged. |

I heard that linux will run on Macintosh PCs. If so, you should be able to install a fairly minimal install of Linux, and run the command-line version of Boinc for this. I didnt research it any, so im prolly wrong. Just my thoughts. PS: I normally spell correctly, but im tired. > > > I have an old Apple Power PC it puts out an amazing 1 SAH Classic > WU > > every 3 > > > or 4 days. Linux runs nicely on Mac PCs. :-) Just be aware, Linux/PPC isn't a supported architecture, so you'd have to go the anonymous platform route. It's fun that way, though. :-) Rob |
