I would try Febreze. And probably turn the mattress over. If that didn't work, then I'd get a new mattress. And maybe a new cat. ;) Tide comes in a version that has Febreze in it, which makes clothes smell pretty good, so the sheets should be salvagable. |

Hi Ladies, I hope I can help you on this one. The only way to really kill Cat Urine is through Enzymes (Little Microscopic Bugs) They absorb or Eat the Odor Molecules... If you go to the Hardware Store and ask they will have products there. Don't be fool by any product that just masks a Odors. I have tried Nature’s Miracle and it doesn't work very well. Don't get that one..... I hope this helps you... Here some Links The Cat Site... Urine-Off Zero-Odor ![]() |

Hi Ladies, I hope I can help you on this one. Oust maybe good for the air temporarily but not deep down on the surfaces were the oder is embedded. "Immediately after spraying, Oust® Air Sanitizer attaches to odor-causing bacteria in the air." Hope I have helped... ![]() |

No. Enzymes are not bugs, though they are found in living organisms. Enzymes consist of various types of protiens & are used by a living organism to 'drive' or to speed up the various chemical reactions within that organism. You might be interested in the link...explains far better than me enzymes As for the cat pee....yeah, mum used to take in strays when I was a kid. Absolutely nothing will get the stink out of the mattress....it will keep coming back because it's probably not just on the ticking but in the stuffing as well. You might be able to mask it for a few weeks but then it'll start again. I'd bin it & scrub your sheets with a very thick paste of Bicarb. of soda. Leave it on for 2hours & then wash it at 90 degrees c with a bio detergent. Should work....& a very cheap way of doing it Good luck :) |

What is a good de-greaser? I need something to get this access grease off my stove! The one I have... well...sucks... Mmmmm.....not seen that one before. Might give that a go. Nice to see you back here :) @ SB07...Lemon juice also works really well but you have to really rub it in. Fresh lemons are the best. Leave it on for just a few minutes then wipe it off.Works well on soapy taps as well. When I had the restaurant, I used something called 'Fairy Power Spray'. It was totally fab on the really baked on crud....& we are talking industrial crud here, lol!! I could have kissed the ground when it was brought out!! However, if you find it & use it.....spray & run. Don't breathe it in.I don't know how toxic it is lol, but it felt pretty bad! btw...I forgot to say...if your sheets are not cotton or are a colour, do a 60 deg C wash instead of a 90 & only leave the bicarb on for 20/30 mins....you might have to do it twice. :) You take care :) |

What is a good de-greaser? I need something to get this access grease off my stove! The one I have... well...sucks... @ LG and SB07, Simple Green is biodegradable, (in and of itself; however, depending on the stuff you are spraying it on... well), my Dad and I found it, (the original formula), takes motor oil spots off the driveway. It works well to wash cars, too. A little bit goes a long way. Now, after seeing their Website, it seems they have broadened their Product Line. So; yes, check it out I hope you are pleased with it. Thanks for the welcome back, LG, it is good to be here. Thanks to D.W.W. filling me in on BOINC 5.5.13 to fix the instability I had between SETI@Home WU's with Chicken's Optimized App. and SETI-Beta unoptimized... Now things seem to be working. I will continue to monitor both SETI@Home and Beta; however, I think BOINC 5.5.13 is doing the job. 8-D TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

I usually use some of that stuff, the painters use before they paint, we just call it basic cleansing. It's a very strong de-greaser, and it takes all grease and you'll have to wear rubber gloves when using it, because it takes the grease from the skin too. I used it to clean my mother's apartment, after she died, when we had to hand over the apartment. She hadn't have a proper cleaning for years, as she couldn't do it herself and the home helpers were not that effective. So her apartment were pretty dirty with grease from cooking and smoking. And it was very effective, it took all the smoke and grease. I cleaned her fridge and freezer also with it, as they were very dirty also. Even it said in her papers that the home helpers should clean those too. :-( "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me ![]() |

It's not what you need at a time like that :( A similar thing happened to me when I had to sort K's things out. It will be 11 years in Feb...but I still remember it vividly. The landlord was obliged to clean but refused & so I did it. In a moment of total madness I wouldn't let my family help me. It took me nearly a week :( Ironically K was the one who told taught me the lemon juice trick....he was very good at things like that :) btw....you have mail :) |

Simple Green actually is pretty potent stuff too; however, it doesn't harm the skin, so - no gloves needed... It, (in and of itself), is biodegradable; so, when washing your car with it, it is acceptable for the runoff to hit the storm drains without fear of being penalized by HOA-Spies for "polluting the storm drains"... As I stated earlier; it even removes oil stains from driveways. TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

No, we, my brother and I, sorted her things and shared what we wanted, and then we helped each other with the cleaning. We only did the worst, as her deposit would cover a cleaning after the painters anyway. Only her bathroom, which wasn't that bad, because the home helpers had done that well, her kitchen, which really needed to be cleaned, inside the owen, up in the cooker hood, on the top of the shelves, and inside the closets, and since she only had thorough cleaning once a year, it needed pretty badly. And she had spilled some food inside her fridge and her freezer, but it wasn't that bad, I only needed a lot of water with that cleanser in. And then we washed the windows, the window frames and the doors and doorframes, and washed the floor. And it's easy in a cleared space, so it wasn't that bad. It was the task you have as a relative, which I think we did as a last thing for her to do. We spent about a month doing it all, but then we had everything in our hands to decide what to do with it, and she had a lot of stuff. We spent a lot of time also reminding our lives and childhood, as a lot of the things were something we had given them ourselves, or we had special memories attached to them. So we had a healing time also while doing it. :-) "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me ![]() |
