Seems to drop here more than most? Topping up as we speak. Well, apart from 3 AP's done today, you haven't finished any work for a week. So, no wonder it drops fast. See: https://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/results.php?hostid=85968&offset=0&show_names=0&state=4&appid= Edit: And then of course, you have all these errors: https://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/results.php?hostid=85968&offset=0&show_names=0&state=6&appid= Edit: I have noticed that the RAC drops like a stone, when you haven't finished any work for a long time, but only when you start crunching again. If you don't crunch, it can stay as it was for a longer time. Example: This old computer of mine, that has stayed at the same RAC (325.08), since I stopped crunching with it on Sep 1st : https://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=57178 If I crunch anything on that one again (which I will not do), the first finished and validated task will make the RAC drop like a stone. |

Well, apart from 3 AP's done today, you haven't finished any work for a week. I will crunch one WU on that oldie, to verify my previous observation. It's now at 325.08. It may drop like heck, when I download the first WU though, and not when I finish the first one. I don't remember exactly when it happens, if it is with the first download, or the first finished WU. Edit: It did not happen at the download of the first WU. Let's see if it happens when it is finished, or when it is validated. |

And here's the result: After the first validated task, my RAC went from 325.08 to 216.42. It seems as the daily RAC recalculation on Beta doesn't work. The RAC is recalculated only when new tasks are finished, and sometimes during the weekly outage. Now, I will shut down that old computer again. |

And here's the result: Which might explain why the daily stats dump isn't running here, or perhaps it has to run to get the RAC right? |

It's fairly clear that Seti Main has lost interest in Seti Beta, probably because of a lack of staff and money, meaning no ongoing development. So in the long term perhaps our group here should be looking to move he Cafe to somewhere else more permanent. Shame. When v10 is ready for testing we have enough to do here again. This is what beta is for. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

It's fairly clear that Seti Main has lost interest in Seti Beta ?! If you mean Eric you are full of it. If you mean DA be thankful for miracles. |

Good to hear Mike. Any timescales for V10 ? . No, it depends on Parkes so far i know. Servers needs to be installed and adjusted, same as other hardware in Parkes. Only when all is ready hardware side Eric can start to modify the applications. So who knows. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

*scowl round thread* I am so fed up of bashing my elbows it's not funny. I suppose I should say hello really. Seems a bit pointless as I'm about to leave but ... oh well... hello everyone :) I'd wave but I just bashed my elbows... Have a nice outage. |

Not good, way too short. What will go wrong after this too short outage? (If it's even worth calling it an outage) |

Might one have the temerity to enquire why you are seemingly intent on connecting your lateral epicondyles with harder objects? If it was just them then I'd say ... well... of course that's going to hurt - bashing the same bit over and over again has a tendency to do that - it's why we don't violently jab at a bruise and then wonder why that hurt. It's that the olecranon's are getting involved too that I'm not finding remotely fun. It's like I've lost all spatial awarenesss of where my bits are almost all of the time these days. I mean... I used to have no problem walking through doors. Well, no actually, I've always had a problem walking through doors, but doorways - hardly ever. And walls... where on earth they're coming from I don't know. It's like they're creeping up on me from all round ready for me to pound a bit of myself into them at such short notice even I don't know about it beforehand. If I'd got larger or something, that might explain it, but I haven't... not as far as I can tell anyway. *slow... malevolent... blink* go on then...it's not funny Have a laugh... see what happens... I think you were testing our response to intended irony there regarding the Humerus :-)... ........ Do you think... a lot...? ;) @the outage - I knew one was coming obviously, but it was over before I'd noticed it had even begun. Have there been any ill-effects yet? |
