I baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! :) Yes! And not just back but with a task or two validated too (because you never know when that will happen or won't sometimes, do you...? No you don't.)

It's been ... well it felt a bit like what that must have felt like but with less scenery.

I suppose it's a bit too soon to start claiming that I've won, so instead, I'll say thank you for the lovely hello I got from the real winner whilst I was restricted to pressing a deluxe version of my nose against the outside of her lovely new thread. Thank you :) It almost-but-not-quite made me feel like I was still all here... which I am.

*smile happily at everyone*

Tons and tons of resends _2 or higher, so early after we started getting work again.
Seems to be many computers that just can't handle the work sent out.

*grab cake... MUCH cake* Has today been longer than usual? It feels like it has to me. I think it's probably because my back hurts. And my elbows. My hands are also a bit of a mess. Wrestling with chicken wire can do that I think - especially the way I do it.

Not sure what my head was thinking when it was stashing away today's grocery shopping. I did find everything I needed to cook dinner in the end - but mostly in the freezer where it wasn't really meant to be put.

Hello, Mike. It's lovely to see you back :)

I'd struggle to fill flip-flops at the moment, task-wise, but not to worry, I shall persevere. I've put it down to forgetting to set NNT for Einstein.

If you're all enjoying your weekends, then I'm very glad and recommend you keep doing that. If not... then I hope you start to very very soon! :)

And in 2 hours, it's Thursday.

My maths says 2 hours later is 21:57 .........
Hmm, I made it 23:57.

Zulu time = GMT(UTC)
Alpha time = BST (1 hour ahead of GMT)
Bravo time = European time (1 hour ahead of BST)

That is correct. I'm 2 hours ahead of UTC which is the timezone on this board.
So, I posted at 21:57 my local time, 3 minutes before it would have been 2 hours before Thursday.

Feel free to sue me :-)

OK.

Hi Sue how are you doing?

Is this about how the UK is the only place that matters?

Zulu time = GMT[UTC)
1 hour ahead Alpha Time is European time for 6 months (when UK is on GMT - European Time becomes Bravo Time when UK on Alpha Time)
2 hours ahead Bravo Time is European Time (when UK is on BST)

Confusing isn't it. :-)

The only change for Tut is that he only ends up 1 hour ahead on Alpha Time.

Feel for the poor people who still use GMT. Their time wobbles all over. The rest of the world threw that out and uses UTC.

GMT is based on the rotation of earth as measured at one specific spot on the planet. It is not accurate. And you can't tell what time it is now, you can only know what time it was after the next transit. Nor was that method accurate back in the Phoenician era.
UTC, is not based on the rotation of the earth and is far more accurate. Essentially all governments base their local time zone on UTC.
Leap seconds don't exist in GMT, they do in UTC.

Best not confuse with TAI.
