Finally got the "train cams" back after a weeks outage and I am looking at the Chicago cam, thinking where are all the commuter trains!! Then I realised. Happy 4th!! |

Monday posting. Mists of dreams drip along the nascent echo, and love no more. End of line. Bad news travels faster than the speed of light, good news never leaves the room. |

Grey and overcast Tuesday Yep half way round my daily walk the sky started to clear, now it's cloudy with sunny spells |

Hump day has started well ... Came out my front door to find that some thieving *** has stolen a wheel off my car. As I sat on the bus into work I realised I can't even fit the spare as they've nicked the wheel nuts too! |

All work, no fun. Computers shut down during daytime. No win. WARNING!! "THIS IS A SIGNATURE", of the "IT MAY CHANGE AT ANY MOMENT" type. It may, or may not be considered insulting, all depending upon HOW SENSITIVE THE VIEWER IS, to certain inputs to/from the nervous system. |

Hump day has started well ... Seems you need "lockable wheel nuts" |

Thanks Guys. Almost sorted now. I came to the same I conclusion as Bernie. Spare fitted and all four wheels have a lockable nut. Have tracked down a second hand replacement alloy about 25 miles away, just need to sneak off work early to go and get it :-) So much for modern technology. Back in the old days I could have still been rolling along with just 3 wheels on my wagon :-D |

for a long time volkswagen didn't give you a full spare wheel, but just an 'emergency one' 'don't drive on it for more than 50 km, find the nearest garage' very funny if you're in the middle of the Sahara... on that note, winning. A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

.....VW aren't the only ones to supply those skinny little things - even worse are some high-end cars which just have a can of squirty gooey stuff, which is all very well until some poor schmuck has to change the wheel, or one suffers a nocturnal tea-leaf visitation.... |

Those comedy spare wheels are hilarious. Mists of dreams drip along the nascent echo, and love no more. End of line. Bad news travels faster than the speed of light, good news never leaves the room. |

Well my car is a pretty "low end" Nissan Note, and it has a can of "squirty gooey stuff" where one would normally find the spare wheel. If I get a puncture it may just be a call to the RAC! |

I'm really glad that old Fiestas come with a proper spare wheel. I wouldn't have got far with squirty goo as a fourth wheel :-D Edit: It's been a while since I last launched any baked goods. Ginger shortbread, fresh from the oven, despatched - guaranteed carb- and calorie-free :-) |

Hmmmm ooooooo, the ginger shortbread had cooled to "pleasant eating" temperature when it reached me :-) |
