Just received the first AP v7.08 tasks. Is there anyone out there who knows what has changed in this new revision ?

I received the first v7.06 tasks back in December. This must be something new.

New binaries should match those released for anonymous platform already.
Just trying to keep stock builds updated. Advance for stock users but nothing new for anonymous platform ones.

Expect better handling of overflows. And driver 341.44 allowed for NV build on pre-FERMI GPUs.

Also, if released with right plan class (need to check!) should allow per-device config for stock too.

For AMD/ATi GPUs, both 7.06 and 7.08 show they're built from r2742, so effectively no change.

For NVIDIA, 7.06 said r2742 but 7.08 says r2745. The changes in that range were tweaks to the per-device configuration file adding some oclFFT_tune parameters. Basically only those who have more than one GPU are effected, with a single GPU it's easier to set that tuning through the command line file.

I don't know yet if the Intel GPU application changed, haven't found a completed intel_gpu 7.08 task to check.

It seems the attempt to get the per-device empty files sent out by the project failed, I think that was really the main target of the update.

Is the AP Validator not working? I know we have only been at it for a day but I have a few where both of us have completed the work unit but there is no validation occurring. Any ideas?

This has been mentioned over on main as well. I hope they will start the validators soon. They have been offline for quite some time now (six weeks I think).
Estimates for v7.08 are off by a huge margin, and this screws up my cache. While the validators are not working the estimates are not being adjusted. Is there any reason why initial estimates are so very, very, VERY conservative ?

To follow up, for Intel GPU both 7.06 and 7.08 indicate they're r2742 so essentially no change there.
