20% done. Slowest android app this far.Still running though. Hope to finish this wu before summer comes to Sweden.

Edit: Since I don't crunch while on battery, and I use that phone every day, it will take forever to finish wu's with this kind of slow app. Watching grass grow is lightingly fast compared to this.

Luckily for me, I no longer use my HTC One V as an actual phone, it was replaced by a LG FX3 which does not crunch.

Don't know what you changed since worked offline version but this 7.25 fails again, at least online.

It's identical down to the MD5 to the last megadebug version. :(

well.... then I'll check it offline.
And that worked version - online.

Just another possibility to throw in the ring, if it looks like uniprocessor ARM devices sortof work with the builds.

My samsung mini is uniprocessor AFAIK. Will check.

SETI@home v7 v7.25 (armv6-vfp).

52.4%, 28 hours. Still running OK on my Catphone (Number of processors: 2).
Incredibly slow app, but it does work so far.

Is this the host that doesn't have NEON, but it getting running the neon fold? I thought I had fixed that.

Why does v7.25, still show as v7.24 in the stderr examples for the errored wu's we'we seen here?

From Raistmers stderr:
setiathome_v7 7.24 Revision: 2072 arm-linux-androideabi-g++ (GCC) 4.6 20120106 (prerelease)

@Eric

The reason of failures on my hosts is NEON version on non-NEON CPUs indeed.
What additional info you need for debugging?

(both Samsung mini and G-tab are non-NEON CPUs)

BTW, app name is: setiathome_7.25_arm-android-linux-gnu__armv6-vfp but actually it's NEON app.

BTW, app name is: setiathome_7.25_arm-android-linux-gnu__armv6-vfp but actually it's NEON app.

As with other stock CPU apps, there are variant routines for both vfp and neon. You can see the choices in stderr:

vfp_GetPowerSpectrum (CPU Caps)
neon_ChirpData (CPU Caps)
v_Transpose4 (default)
neonFoldMain (CPU Caps)

It comes down to how the capabilities are detected.

Thanks for corrections I tend to forget more general approach of stock build to code path selection.
Well, then one could say that code path selection mechanism is broken in 7.25.
cpuinfo doesn't mention neon on that host. On what "cpuid" stock build based then ?

And another observation:

when I tried to run app offline I got "SIGSEGV" errors until switched to superuser via su command.
Then Mateuzs' app started to work and stock started to fail on SIGILL. Before both failed on SIGSEGV.

So, something preventing app to run under user acc offline. Why ? Why superuser required (again, OFFLINE run from command line). File security was 777, that is, all for all.
Directory seсurity ? But why misleading SIGSEGV then not complains about file errors?

Maybe random SIGSEGVs reported by many somehow connected with this "superuser needed" issue ?

Second V7.25 running fine also. Seems to be a shortie this time, 46.5% in 9 hours 11 minutes.

Only thing I can think of is that the app doesn't satisfy the OS requirements to stay alive.

Newbie question:

I have just crested an account and attached an android device.

I noticed 2 apps on the applications page:

Android (ARM processor)7.24 (armv7-vfpv4)5 Dec 2013, 1:50:57 UTC
Android (ARM processor)7.25 (armv6-vfp)6 Feb 2014, 22:32:07 UTC

The application I got automatically from tge server is the 7.25 armv6.

My processor is an ARMv7 Processor rev 10 (v7l) @996MHz(4 processors).

Was I given the correct app?

EDIT: First task errored @ ~2 minutes wall time.
Have set NNT for now.

78%, 15 hours 30 minutes. Still running just fine. Definitely a shortie. WU true angle range is : 5.816932, according to the wingman who finished it.
