It would make a nice minimal screensaver app:

The SETI Range Equation -- in its current form -- does not account for Arrays or VLBL reception condition.
Doing range equation studies would help in the development of the SETI applications themselves.
Variables that need to be fully run thru for all the different antenna types and correlation systems:
1. Transmit frequencies outside of the 1.4 GHz ghetto.
2. Bandwidth in Hz, don't ideally can't expect 1 Hz to be realistic or to happen.
3. Error correction properties of the signal, that is to say what is its FFT redundancy rates.
4. Modulation types with respect to bandwidth, you cannot expect 1 Hz CW OOK -- for the ignorant On Off Keying.
The one thing about the SETI Range Equation that I find flawed is that it is blind to 2-state or 4-state RTTY type signals.
RTTY signals have non-CW like energy signatures, but due to issues of Error Correction and Information Theory in general -- have higher systemic gain.
